“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
We belong to God; not only for a few fleeting years that we call life, but for eternity. God is on both sides of the river. He walks with us doing our earthly life and is there to receive us for our eternal life. We are in God’s presence in life, death, and everlasting, yet we must cross the river to receive our crown of life. To my beautiful family members and friends, on February 23, 2026. I turned my back and left it all when I saw God waiting for me on the other side. I know my life appears to be brief, but I’ve lived an exciting and full life. God afforded me many wonderful opportunities, so don’t question him about sending his angels sooner than we all planned.
It was September 10, 1953, a beautiful Fall day in Brunswick, Georgia, God gave Henry Frank Sullivan and Susie Cleo Slay Sullivan an amazing daughter that they named Ramona Sullivan. She was educated in the Glynn County public school system and attended Brunswick High School, Brunswick, Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Ramona Sullivan was united in holy matrimony with Alonza Griffin in 1973. Their union was blessed with three children, Michael Griffin, Anthony Griffin, and Falana Griffin.
In her leisure, she enjoyed her soaps, crossword puzzles, word trivia, and scrapbooking. She was employed by Southeast Georgia Health System until she retired. She had a golden heart and would help anyone in need if she could. Her pleasant sense of humor and bold personality always made it an honor to be in her presence or simply have a conversation with her. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Saying she will be greatly missed is an understatement but knowing that she is at peace now helps with the healing process. She will always be loved and will always be in our hearts.
On February 23, 2026, God in his infinite wisdom and mercy saw that Ramona had finished her assignment here on earth and called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alonza Griffin; brothers, Samuel Dent Sullivan, Henry Frank Sullivan, Jr., James Edward Sullivan, Albert Dix Sullivan, Michael T. Sullivan and Reginald Sullivan; three sisters, Carolyn Sullivan Johnson, Henrietta Sullivan and Frankie Sullivan-Quimby.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Michael Griffin, Anthony (LaQuesha) Griffin and Falana Griffin all of Brunswick, Georgia; five grandchildren, Anthonay Griffin, Ashley Griffin, Anthony Griffin, Jr., Avery Griffin and Sa’Nala Towns; one brother, Reverend Ephraim D. (Marvette) Sullivan; two sisters, Reverend Julia Sullivan (Charles) Mangrum of Passaic, New Jersey, and Gloria D. Sullivan-Brower of Dublin, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
